Land use impacts on the habitat quality and habitat risks for felids

This project will quantify habitat quality for five different felids that occur in the Park, based on current land cover and land use. In an additional step, it will reassess habitat quality and assess habitat risks in view of plans to increase four-fold visitor numbers in the next 20 years by the private company that has been managing visitation / public areas on a for-profit basis since April 2019. This way, these assessments will serve as an early warning system regarding the compatibility and limits of public use and conservation in one of the most frequented conservation areas of São Paulo state.
