Permanent vegetation plots are being set up for plant community surveys and for studies on the carbon and nitrogen cycles in native forest, Pinus plantation and open shrubby grassland vegetation. In forest vegetation, tagged trees will measured for diameter and height repeatedly to estimate above-ground biomass. Additionally, litterfall and root growth dynamics and soil gas flux will be quantified at regular intervals. Earlier work with relevant data is being incorporated.
